1. Rights You Can Exercise

Know, delete, correct, opt out, limit sensitive data, or get a portable copy — free of charge, up to twice in 12 months for access requests.

As a California resident, you may request that RateCards:

  • Right to Know / Access: disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, our purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.
  • Right to Delete: delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., completing transactions, security, and financial record-keeping obligations that apply to payment records held with our payment processor, Stripe).
  • Right to Correct: correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale/Sharing: see our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
  • Right to Limit Sensitive Personal Information: see Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information.
  • Right to Data Portability: receive your data in a portable, readily usable format.

2. Submit a Request

Fill in the form — it opens a pre-addressed email to our privacy team from your mail app. Nothing is sent until you press Send in your email client.

3. What Happens Next

Confirmation within 10 business days · substantive response within 45 calendar days (extendable once by 45 more) · opt-outs processed within 15 business days.
  • Within 10 business days: we confirm receipt of your request and explain how we will process and verify it.
  • Within 45 calendar days: we respond substantively — providing, deleting, or correcting your data. If we need more time (up to an additional 45 days), we will notify you with the reason before the first 45 days expire.
  • Opt-out and limit requests: processed within 15 business days; no identity verification required.
  • Deletion: we delete your data from our production systems and direct our service providers — including our payment processor, Stripe — to delete it, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial transaction records that payment processors must retain under anti-money-laundering and tax regulations). Our response will identify any information retained under a legal exception.

4. Identity Verification

To protect your data, we must verify that a request to know, delete, or correct comes from you. If you have a RateCards account, we verify through your account email. If you do not, we will ask you to confirm at least two data points we already hold (for example, the email and name associated with a booking). We will never ask for your Social Security number, full payment card number, or account password to verify a request. Information provided for verification is used only for that purpose.

If we cannot verify your identity, we will tell you why and, for requests to know, provide category-level information where possible.

5. Other Ways to Submit

You can also submit any request by email to privacy@ratecards.app with the subject line "California Privacy Request". Account holders can additionally manage data from their account settings where available. Requests are free of charge; access requests may be made up to twice in any 12-month period.

6. Non-Discrimination

Exercising any of these rights will never result in different prices, service levels, or quality. See our Privacy Policy for our complete privacy practices.
